4D Ultrafast Electron Imaging Post-Doctoral Researcher at KAUST

We have an opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct research in the investigation of photophysical processes such as charge carrier dynamics on photoactive materials including but not limited to 2D materials, perovskite and semiconductors using state-of-the-art ultrafast scanning electron microscopy with excellent resolution in time and space (This equipment is home-made, powerful, novel and the only one of its kind that currently under operation around the world). This position is in the Material Science and Chemistry programs at KAUST. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a. Conduct research in ultrafast scanning electron microscopy of nanomaterials including 2D materials and perovskites. Analyze and interpret time-resolved experimental data and other common characterization data of materials.

b. Function as an independent researcher with a high-level of attention to detail.

c. Great ability to write and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals in a timely manner.

d. Basic Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Chemistry, physics, optics, materials science or a closely related field within the past five years.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

a. Experience with ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopic techniques and/or scanning electron microscopic characterization.

b. Ability to work in a very dynamic research environment.

c. An excellent record of productive and creative research shown by publications.

d. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate in English.

PROPOSED START DATE: July 1, 2020

LENGTH OF TERM One year with a possibility of extension up to three years;
